We took a quick family trip to Hilton Head. Just the four of us. We travel a lot. And we travel a lot with other people and that is always fun, but sometimes it's nice to get away with just us. We are SPG and Marriott members so we try to find a place with one of the partnering hotels so our stay is cheaper or free! It's a long drive from Abingdon to Hilton Head but we took our time and made a stop in Charlotte. David scoped out a tavern that had a bone a fide Hop Garden! How cool is that?
A nice restaurant with several local brews on tap and a German style cuisine.
We had to order the beer pretzel and cheese dip. It was delicious.
Lunch is over and our travels needed to continue. This was a nice find and I can see us coming back here one day.
We made it to the beach and it was wonderful! The kids wanted to go to the water immediately. We were up for anything and had been stuck in the car all day so this worked well for us. We didn't have them put on their swim gear because I didn't think we would be at the beach for long, it was already after 7pm and we hadn't had any dinner. They boys didn't care. They were all over the water and the beach in seconds and it was absolutely perfect.
David and I sat on the beach and watched them play for about 2 hours. They had nothing and only each other and that was exactly the way it was supposed to be.
