Fair Time in Washington County

Watching the ducks swim.
All the boys run for the fire truck. I was so glad to see Hunter got the drivers seat!

Girls run for the cute VW bug!

The only roller coaster I will ever ride! And we were the only ones on it!

It wouldn't be the Washington County Fair if it didn't have about 100000000000 tractors!

Jet Ski's

One of his good friends, Adam, sharing a ride on the 4 wheelers.

He did everything he could so to try and not smile. It was the funniest thing!

Lucas LOVED the fair. Who am I kidding, Lucas loves any social situation where he gets lots of attention! Oh yea, and the lights, and the loud noises, and the bunches and bunches of kids. The merry go round was his first fair ride.

No, we do not need a bunny rabbit to take care of at our house.

David...not so much a fan of the fair, but he was a good sport to go!

Petting the donkey. He really wanted to ride it!

Okay, there really isn't much to say about the fair here. It is small and cost a small fortune to go. Hunter LOVES, LOVES it. I am ashamed to say we actually took him twice! Once as a family and then we took Chloe and Jenny. Of course he loves the rides or ride-ens and he calls them and the petting zoo. It wasn't so long ago that little Hunter wouldn't touch or even look at a strange animal...well now he is all over them. He loved the snakes, the spiders, wanted to pet everything and even wanted to pick up a mouse! Enjoy the pics, we all really enjoyed this little fair!

School Starts!

Just look at the difference each year makes!

Last year heading out for the 2-3 year old classroom.

2008. The first year we moved here and Hunter was just 13 months old. My how does the time fly!

2010! Being cheesy for the camera as ususal these days! Now we are into superheroes and rescue people and of couse Lightening McQueen! I was trying to get him to smile and wave and this was the best shot I got. What a ham I have on my hands these days.

Hunter is in the 3-4 year old classroom and goes 3 days a week. He really loves his new teachers and all of his old and new friends. We are really glad that our neighbor is in his class this year. She and Hunter are pals and he looks forward to seeing her each day. This year they have the option to participate in a Spanish lesson. It is once a week and it is so funny to hear him repeat the words. I try to encourage this conversation at home and he promptly tells me, "mommy, quit talking like that!"

Haircut

These 2 pics are the AFTER haircut. Yes, I did cut his hair in the exersaucer! This child is a wild one and I don't think David could have held him down. I have learned through the years working with kids that those things you don't want to do or that may be hard to do you do very quickly! So I just held up the mohawk and snipped!

The rest of these pics are some BEFORE haircut photos. Yes, he is eating or should I say sucking on a piece of watermelon. He goes crazy over our food so I just decided to give him some and he loved it!
Here the comb over doesn't look so bad.

Great shot of the mohawk landing pad! You could pull it down to the tip of his nose by the time I cut it!

Okay, I know I say this every time I start to blog but I am SO BUSY!! The days go by so fast and then before I have time to blink a whole month has passed me by. So, I am going to do my best and hit the highlights of what has been going on around here. First, I want to start with Lucas's first haircut! We all know he was blessed with a head full of spikey hair so as he grew the mohawk got thicker and the rest of the fro got thinner. It didn't take long before we had a nice comb over that could be brushed down to the tip of his nose. I decided to cut it. At first I wasn't so sure it looked better...but it certainly didn't look worse! And now, a month later, it has grown in so much better... so now I can say I was glad that I did it!
