2017 Amelia Island Beach Trip

Why yes, that is a surfboard you see on top of the car.  Remember the post on surfing lessons Chloe and Hunter took last summer at Wrightsville Beach?  In one of David's post night shift stupors he decided it would be a great idea for US to have a surfboard to take to Amelia.  Ugh.  It's not like we pack light as it is.  I feel like we take everything but the kitchen sink.  I will blog more about the surfboard, but I will hint that it was more fun than I thought it would be.
Day one on the beach.  The kids are old enough now that we can spend all day on the beach and that is pretty much what we do.  We have a tent and chairs and toys and each other.  We all play or sun until it's time to call it a day.  When the water is warm and the sun is extra toasty the kids could play in the water all day.

Boogie Boarding has and always will be a favorite!  We finally learned you can't but the cheap little boards from the local beach shop or grocery, you need the full $50 board from Target.  I was hesitant to buy three of them but we are going on 4 years now and they haven' t broken!
These two can wear out the waves.

And these two go through spurts of tolerance with each other.
Very pleased with their sand castle building skills.
