Let's race 70.3 miles in Chattanooga!

This spring our first big race for the season was the 70.3 Ironman in Chattanooga, TN.  It was a wonderful host city with lots of fun things for the kids to see and do while we prepped for the race and on race day.  I would love to go back and visit this city without the nervous nellies over race day!

The official Moon Pie General store that we passed everyday on the way down to the event center.

One of my favorite components of racing, seeing the red carpet and blue balloon finish line!  I feel like a champion the day I cross over the line.  I love it for the kids too.  In all Iron Kids races set up the day before the big race they get the same opportunity to run down the exact same finishing shoot.
Lots of fun things to climb on and explore in the heart of downtown.  All of these structures were outside of the aquarium.
Chloe making the summit.
Lucas and Hunter giving it a good go, but I think Lucas slipped on the way up and hurt his shin.  His BFF and hero of a brother stayed right by his side.
Mom and dad enjoying a section of the race course.
Looking down the Chattanooga river.  The bridges we would soon swim under during our 1.2 mile swim.
