David was working on this beautiful fall day so the boys and I teamed up with our Turner family and took a day trip to Grayson Highlands State Park. It was a wonderfully happy day. The only thing that would have made this day better was David.
He climbed up and yelled "I'm onto of the world!"
Wild ponies and horses live here.
Lots of laughing, running, picnicing and life enjoying!!

Pause...and take a step back
I just recently came across a few pics that had been emailed to me and I thought I would share some of the finds. They are great pictures and fun memories. It is hard to see how much the kids have changed and how fast the time has gone by.
No, this is not Lucas. This is Hunter around 2 almost 3 during one of the first snows here in Abingdon. I can tell we were not used to the weather since he isn't wearing his snowsuit.
Miss Sassy pants trying to play soccer. I don't think soccer was ever her thing, but she sure did make for one cute little player.
Here is the gang, although I am not quite sure if that is Emerson to the right of Hunter. I will have to ask Matt or Kelly. Definitely little Larkin and Lucas staring at the mysterious mulch.
Lucas.
Larkin and Lucas, pals from the beginning. Oh the trouble these two manage to get into.
BFF's Hunter and Emerson. Just recently Hunter asked if he could have Eme over for a sleep over. They are great friends and I hope that never, ever changes.
The best place for these two!
One of my favorite pictures. The boys are in the double running stroller and I used to watch their feet to see when they would rest on the bottom the way Hunter's do in this picture. Lucas's are almost there and Hunter's are there already. It has been a long time since we have pushed them in the double. Hunter can ride his bike without training wheels now so he can ride while we run or he wants to run with us. Lucas still rides in the single with his feet resting on the bottom as well now and he is now wearing the shoes you see Hunter in for this picture...sniff..sniff. Time just flies right on by.
If we had this on video you could see that they were running.
Amy, sweet Olivia and Chloe.
The end...Now I need to go and get a box of tissues. I would like to keep them little forever and ever.

First Snow!
Our first snow wasn't anything to brag about, it was a dusting really, but the boys loved it. They really loved eating it. In the blogs to come we have had a lot more snow and we have lots of pics of play in the snow, but I think the number one thing they like about snow is to EAT it!
Sullins Academy and Fender's Farm
This fall season we took a trip to Fender's Farm in the lovely town of Jonesboro, TN. It had all the bells and whistles that any good school field trip farm should have. There were big tractor rides, corn mazes, animal petting, and pumpkin picking. It was a beautiful day for a field trip and it was really warm for October, I think it was close to 80 degrees!! Sweet Lucas was able to accompany us to the farm and he had a blast.
After an hour in the car everyone needs a snack before the tractor ride. Lucas doesn't know he is a little guy. He has a great time with Hunter's friends and they are all really sweet to him.
Hello little Hunter. They were all getting a little anxious waiting for the tour. There was a huge play area to the left of this picture that you can't see and for whatever reason the teachers did not want the kids to play on it. It was REALLY annoying. They had been in the car for over and hour, we had a 25 minute snack time and the kids were going NUTS!! (As you can tell I was too, finally I told my boys to go play and they did and it turned out to be just fine).
Hunter and his BFFs Andrew and Lauren.
Andrew and Lauren are twins and these 3 have the best time together.
Lucas getting ready to pet the goats.
Everyone running and trying to find a way out of the fence maze.
This was a scene from the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. The kids couldn't tear their eyes away from this wolf. They had some little pigs running around but everyone was much more interested in the wolf. I thought he was pretty scary looking myself.
The kiddos waiting for the pumpkin searching and picking instructions.
Lucas looking around for his perfect pumpkin. He really like little, teeny tiny baby things so he searched for his own little, baby pumpkin.
Found it!
Here they were all given stickers and markers to decorate their pumpkin. Here Hunter is showing me the pumpkin he found.
Lucas and his pumpkin.
Now they were searching for gourds.
The spider slide at the end! This was a great trip and I am glad Lucas was able to come with us, but I was sure glad to go home!
