Lucas milestones

I forgot to mention that Lucas reached some pretty amazing milestones during our rompus around AI.

1. He started to laugh and Aunt Noelle was one of the first to get him to do it out loud!
2. He can now roll both ways to get where he wants to go
3. He can really push up on his arms and hold his head way up...he is a nosy baby
4. And he is starting to push up on his knees and scoot with his feet!

Boy, the time sure flies. And to think next year he will be running around with the rest of them.

more BEACH!

How we all felt on the drive back from Florida. We made this trip in one day and I couldn't have asked the boys to do any better. They were fantastic for such an exhausting day.
Hunter's dream bed..right between me and David. Sleeping was a little tricky but we all managed!

Lucas and his "box." This was a great find for travel, we couldn't have fit the pack in play in our truck. He probably slept better than any of us!

Down in Fernandina for the afternoon.

We often took the kids to get ice cream in the afternoon.

Feeding the turtles at the nature center.

AKA Lightening McQueen duece. These boys were amaxing on their bikes even in the heat. They often took a long bike ride together with the daddies in the afternoon.

Lucas on the beach. He did get to go out some, on cloudy days or early in the morning.

Catching a sand wave!

Lucky for Hunter the codos next door were getting some work done. I swear this kid can sniff out a tractor!

Collecting seashells.

Waiting as patiently as a 2 and 3 year old can for the bus.

Hunter loved the ocean and jumping the ways. Once I figured this out I bought him a life jacket at Target for my own piece of mind.

Flying superhero kites.

Lucas's first time in the pool. I am not sure if he liked it. He didn't cry, but he didn't get all excited either. Needless to say, this was a BIG trip for him. I am still trying to get that boy back on schedule.

The Beach!

Last day at the beach...sniff, sniff.
Yes, we did stop at Chuck-e-Cheese in Asheville on the way down. David admitted this place was his worst nightmare, but it helped break up the long drive. I had an iteniery and we took 2 days to travel on the way down. It was a fun adventure, especially for Hunter.

Our attempt for a kid pic. They all did great considering it was a billion degrees outside. Eli was a pro holding tight to baby Lucas.

After a pretty rocky start with Simmons #2 we finally got a chance to relax for almost 2 weeks at the lovely Amelia Island. To make a long story really, really short we were a household of illnesses just about from the moment little Lucas came home from the hospital. But now, 16 weeks later, we are all doing much better. We had a wonderful time in the hot Florida sun with our fabulous neice and nephew and my pretty cool sis and brother in law, all of whom I wish we could see and hang out with much more often than we do. The days were full of fun and Hunter and Eli are best buddies for sure. I must say it was the first time that I spent more time indoors at the beach than out. It was just too hot for little Lucas so we just played inside and enjoyed our oceanfront view.

Just stuff.

My beautiful anniversary flowers. Playing with the water squirters. Hunter always one to keep it safe in the life vest. Chloe did have hers on but she got "too hot."

First trip back to the pool.

Hunter dancing on the tressel. He moves like his daddy!

One of our first family runs in our new Bob duallie. It is great. Hunter loves the company and Lucas usually just sleeps. David's load just keeps getting heavier and heavier.

This day Hunter decided he wanted to run. So we let him...and he ran for 1.5 miles. We couldn't believe it and he was so pround of himself! He crashed on the couch and took a 3 hour nap after this adventure too.

One of Hunter's favorite things to do is to take a trip up the Creeper Trail to the cow farm and chat it up with the cows. He usually runs or rides in the bike buggy. This time Chole accompanied him and loves posing for pics! She is such a ham!

Really tired after a bike ride. He usually says, "I need to rest a little bit, please."

Super fast over the tressel and I just realized he isn't wearing his helmet. I am going to have to ask David about that.

Lucas's 10 week mug shot!

Little bit of happiness!

Lucas is the happiest little baby! We have enjoyed every minute of him. In these pictures he was having the best time watching me put up laundry while big brother was finishing up a much needed nap!
I think he is going to have a great big ole belly laugh one of these days.

The boys

Play time on the porch.
Abby was licking Cheerios off the top of Lucas's head.

Hunter thought this was the funniest thing, Lucas had know idea what just happened!

Asking which book Lucas would like to read.

Reading to Lucas about tractors. Lately Hunter's imagination has just taken off and he really enjoys playing with his toys.....by himself. I can overhear him talking to his blocks, or trucks or animals and he is having the best time. It is nice to see him entertain himself and be so creative.

Play time!

Hunter's new sun hat.

Another fav place to sleep...his bouncy chair, wrapped up in what used to be Hunter's favorite baby blanket...sniff, sniff.
